SELECTION / SCOPE / HANDOVER

Before choosing the equipment

Describe vegetation, access and features that must be retained. Ask who confirms suitability near roads, structures and utilities and how the work area will be managed.

What belongs in the quote

Define the expected finish, treatment of larger material and any cleanup or disposal. Distinguish cutting vegetation from removing stumps or preparing a construction platform.

Think about the surrounding work

Describe what must be cut, broken, drilled or separated and the surrounding structures, utilities and occupied areas. Ask how the attachment matches the carrier and what protection, access and environmental controls belong in the work plan. Define the finished result and how removed material will be handled.

Three questions for your contractor

  1. What vegetation and finish are included?
  2. How are retained features protected?
  3. Are stumps and cleanup part of the scope?

Bring a useful project brief

Bring site photographs, access measurements, available drawings and a description of the finished result. Identify what is known about the ground and existing services, and distinguish confirmed information from assumptions. Ask for written inclusions, exclusions, change procedures and handover records before comparing totals.

Equipment selection and the work method need a qualified contractor familiar with the site. This guide helps frame the brief; it does not replace manufacturer instructions, site assessment or engineering.
