SELECTION / SCOPE / HANDOVER
Before choosing the equipment
Inventory the tools expected on the project. Ask for documented compatibility and an explanation of the required checks and operator training for the chosen system.
What belongs in the quote
Clarify whether hydraulic connections, installation and training are included. Keep equipment identification and manufacturer instructions available with the machine records.
Think about the surrounding work
Ask for the exact carrier and attachment combination. Mounting geometry, attachment mass, hydraulic requirements and the work material all affect suitability. A coupler or tool change can alter the machine configuration; compatibility and operating limits must come from the supplier and manufacturer documentation for that combination.
Three questions for your contractor
- Which attachments are confirmed compatible?
- What installation work is included?
- What training and records are supplied?
Bring a useful project brief
Bring site photographs, access measurements, available drawings and a description of the finished result. Identify what is known about the ground and existing services, and distinguish confirmed information from assumptions. Ask for written inclusions, exclusions, change procedures and handover records before comparing totals.
