A dedicated mulcher is a different equipment proposal from a small attachment on a general-purpose carrier. Specify the vegetation, access constraints and the required condition of the remaining material.
Feller bunchers, skidders & forwarders
Cutting, gathering and transporting timber are separate tasks. Clarify whether timber is to be recovered, where it will be collected and how access and ground disturbance will be managed.
Stump grinders
Grinding and full stump extraction leave different below-ground outcomes. Describe the next use of the site and ask which roots, grindings and reinstatement are included.
Wood chippers
Chipping requires an agreed feed material and an outlet for the chips. Define stockpile locations, loading responsibility and the treatment of unsuitable material.
Horizontal & tub grinders
Bulk wood processing needs room for feed, finished material and supporting loaders. Ask how contamination will be identified and how the processed material will leave the site.
Define the complete scope
Ask for the proposed machine configuration, delivery arrangements, supporting equipment, material handling and finished result in writing. Separate confirmed site information from assumptions, and agree how changed conditions will be documented and priced.
