What was announced

Caterpillar announced the D11 XE on September 9, 2026. The company reports lower fuel consumed per unit of material moved and higher hourly production than the next-generation D11. These are manufacturer claims, not an Excavators.tv field test.

What to ask before buying

For a buyer, the useful follow-up is the exact comparison configuration, work cycle and local support package. Ask the dealer for regional availability, operating-cost assumptions and a demonstration relevant to the planned work. Electric drive should not be confused with a claim that this is a battery-electric machine.
