What was announced
Caterpillar previewed the 301 CR micro mini excavator at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March 2026. The release describes it as the successor to the 300.9D and states planned commercial availability in early 2027. A preview date should not be presented as proof that a local dealer has a machine for sale today.
What to ask before buying
For a compact-access project, start with confirmed dimensions, working configuration and delivery timing from the supplier. If the project starts before the planned launch, compare equipment that can actually be supplied. Recheck the manufacturer announcement and your regional dealer before making a purchase decision.
